A symbol of art, beauty and, obviously, tourism. Naples is certainly a city to visit because it is rich in history and culture. Furthermore it offers many places and occasions to chill out and a breathtaking landscape.

The symbol of Naples is Castle Maschio Angioino built between 1279 and 1284, has been the residence during the age of Angioino. The external part is majestuous thanks to the presence of walls at whose angles there are three towers where we can find Arco di Trionfo. Inside we suggest visiting Sala dei Baroni.

A city rich in culture and history

Napoli has a great deal of religious buildings, but it is worth visiting Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta whose origin dates back to the XIII century and where three times a year the traditional dissolution of San Gennaro' blood takes place.

If you happen to be in Naples you can't miss the visit to the Monastero di Santa Chiara, that consists of various religious buildings. Both the Monastero and the Basilica where built starting from 1310. The building consists of three cloisters: the one of Clarisse, the one of Frati Minori and the one of Servizio.

Sansevero Chapel hosts important monuments such as Cristo Velato, Pudicizia and Disincanto. You don't have to miss the beautiful Chiesa del Gesù nuovo in baroque style and the Certosa di San Martino. This was founded in 1325 with the choir, the chapel on the sides and the Sala del Tesoro.

Naples, city rich in culture, offers different buildings such as Capodimonte Museum in Capodimonte Real Palace, which is interessant both for its art and the exposition of ancient carriages and nativity scenes inside.

The national museum of San Martino, from where you can admire a beautiful landscape, has a rich cartographic collection.

You can't miss Napoli Novecento Museum which is located in Castel Sant'Elmo and there is an exposition of 170 works among sculptures, paintings and graphics by neapolitan artists.

Then another important building is Castel dell'Ovo, one of the most ancient castles on the sea, with a special legend. Piazza del Plebiscito is in the earth of Naples. At the centre of the square there are the sculptures of Carlo III Borbone and Ferdinando I, by the artists Canova and Calì. In front of Piazza del Plebiscito you can visit Palazzo Reale that dates back to the XVII century built for the king of Spain.

Then you can't miss a walk along Mergellina where there is the Harbour. You can admire Vesuvio and Isole Flegree. There are two streets: via Partenope and Caracciolo, seafront of Naples. Then Posillipo with beautiful houses and streets on the sea.

If you love nature, we suggest visiting Villa Comunale and Parco Virgiliano also good to do physical exercises. Then from the Harbour you can take a ferry to go to Capri, Procida and Ischia.

Finally, last but not least, Napoli sotterranea where you can walk at forty meters of depth while discovering history of any time engraved on yellow tuff. And then if you are keen on history you have to visit Pompeii and Ercolano Ruins and admire how was the place before the volcanic eruption
